            One of two styles of poetry I've been learning is a List Poem. I would have NEVER thought a list could be part of a poem, but apparently it's legit. It's a style I'm still learning, but I'm learning nonetheless; just mind blown to think all those times I wrote lists in my phone for various things was ALSO training for another way to write something unique. Below is one I wrote today.


And It Is Here (List Poem)

-A moment to thrive 

-A plan to heal and grow

-A day to overcome 

; and it is here I rise, slowly.

It is here I pray, with more focus,

grateful for a moment to recover in busy.

          I saw the child before me, showing joy and innocence, present in the present and fully embracing jubilation even in the everyday. I witnessed the fun still evident in the fundamental responsibilities of daily living as the aging youth went about their day. I saw dancing, then the timid pulling back of a child-like nature.
