Two Eyes (An Older Poem I Wrote)

Two eyes,

looking at two eyes,

one speaks,

talks to the deaf.


Two eyes,

saying things,

many things,

profound and simple things,

to one who is deaf,

unable to receive a language they don't speak,

one they desire to,

one they cannot learn.


Two eyes,

looking at two eyes,

a cat and a person,

a person who wonders about the feline mind.

          I saw the child before me, showing joy and innocence, present in the present and fully embracing jubilation even in the everyday.
