Colors And Pockets (Second attempt At A Villanelle Poem)
Color through trees,
painted landscapes that speak of their art,
attention they seize.
Unlocking beautiful keys,
where life dies and rises from the start,
from the grass to the trees.
Bland then not,
showing brilliance from their start,
colors that rise from supposed "rot".
Warm it is not,
pockets over the heart,
still beautiful is "caught".
Travelling together through,
items hidden over the heart,
in pockets worn and new.
Beautiful changes felt in the breeze,
embraced in this living art,
colors and pockets seize,
an embrace to me that frees.
Note About The Piece: The Villanelle Poem style usually follows a rather complex repetitive rhyming style. For this one the guidelines for writing it according to the writing prompt were to make each section (or "refrain" as they call it) a little different. I ALMOST gave up on trying to write it. This one is about my favorite time of year: fall (something the prompt also had a guideline for); so, I wrote my favorite things about the season: it's USUALLY cooler as the leaves change color, AND you get to wear stuff with pockets. Don't know if I'll try this style again, to be fully transparent.
Sidenote: If any of the writing on this blog has made a good impact on your life in someway (EVEN if it was something you may have enjoyed reading for a particular reason), please feel free to share this blog with someone else who could be blessed also. Thank you for your support!
