A Different Persona

         I used to think ALL poetry had to be non-fiction. Recently that has changed...and I must admit...it's been a REALLY fun journey. One of those more fictional styles I've been learning is called a Persona Poem where you create a persona about something that's NOT you and write from there. What I enjoy most about learning these is when you feel stuck in the area of non-fiction content, you can come up with something fictional, AND it forces you to be more creative as well as you do (ironic I know). Below is one example of a persona poem I wrote today.

Let's Talk (Persona Poem)

Let's talk, you and I; for now I'll listen.

I may be speaking as you write, but I'll listen also.

Write and just be; no pressure, no judgement.

If it's not perfect that's okay; I just wanna create with you.

So let's talk, you the writer and I the page;

I enjoy our "conversations".

Sidenote: If any of the writing on this blog has made a good impact on your life in someway (EVEN if it was something you may have enjoyed reading for a particular reason), please feel free to share this blog with someone else who could be blessed also. Thank you for your support!
