Tired Brains (An Older Poem I Wrote)

Tired brains and weary hearts,

bodies beaten by time and life,

one by one they arise,

slowly yet they rise.

Life begins it's conversations,

spoken to these still half asleep,

where pleading eyes await our arrival,

eager for us to engage the waking world.

Stumbling in sleepy stupor,

desperately continuing on,

with tired brains in every attempt to be,

regardless of the exhaustion that holds us still.
