Still

For a moment I hear it, calling from the stillness and I answer the call. Breaking the chains of busy I step into the welcome serenity. Between two metal posts holding open attached metal arms I enter. Standing in the gap of a tree line overlooking a flat field I am looking over it all. Standing....here in the place secured for me, the metal arms and posts make an unspoken agreement to grant peace to my worn soul. Standing....drinking in rest and a quiet beauty that refreshes. Standing....grateful for some calm and renewal, here in the still atmosphere all around.
