I Spoke To Fire (An Older Poem I Wrote)

I spoke to fire,

as it sought to consume me.

I spoke to fire,

with authority and conviction given.

I spoke to fire,

refusing to yield to the destruction.

I spoke to fire,

and will again,

even if in the encounter I am consumed.
