Precious And Few (An Older Poem I Wrote)

 Precious And Few

Precious and few are the moments,

of tasks done,

life cherished,

action and reaction embraced,

met with engagement in this flurry of speed;

the day-to-day of living.


Precious and few is time,

our days,

when we are striving to live,

be in the moments of great worth,

do all we can to fulfill responsibilities;

the understatement of the year it seems,

and still it is being said,

here,

in these moments known to me,

precious and few,

ones I will not take for granted.

          I saw the child before me, showing joy and innocence, present in the present and fully embracing jubilation even in the everyday.
