While (A Writing Experiment)

While reviewing older blog posts and writing I posted, this wild idea started forming in my head. I'd like to think this is "Divine inspiration", Jesus giving me creativity I could never have come up with on my own (especially through the busyness that I've seen in life lately which has been taking a lot out of me); though I'm not sure.

The idea was to combine a few older poems into one poetic essay or non-fiction piece (with a few added lines or "tweaks" to work it all together). This piece uses rainy and stormy days as the metaphor for hard days and seasons of life, and how it can be tough to "create" anything (writing or not) called "While" (posted below). I'll also share the poems directly below that in their original forms. May this writing experiment be a blessing to encourage and empower someone today (especially if you're struggling to create something (whatever that is); and thanks again for your support.

                                     While

While it's "raining" I'm dreaming, looking through cloudy thoughts and stormy perspectives; coming and going, never knowing, never slowing.... usually.

Talking and telling, first in these occasional mumblings that become clear words and sentences,  where inspiration and I have conversations in these "stormy weather" days of life; where I'm writing as quick as I can.

While it's "dark" I'm walking still, under this umbrella of self-preservation, coming and going, grateful I'm still going, even when life isn't slowing, here in these "stormy" days that are tough.

All the while talking and sharing new words, new ideas, new literary creation and therapy where the "sun" of new opportunities still shines of the promise of better and brighter. While it's "raining" hard days I'm dreaming, looking through "cloudy" thoughts and perspectives, where I'm grateful to hear something from inspiration again. Where I'm healthy, awake, alive and living, all while it's "raining" on these rough days, ones I'm simply clinging to the promise in: that it can't "rain" bad forever.

The poems that this nonfiction piece are inspired by (posted below).

While It's Raining (An Older Poem I Wrote)

While it's raining I'm dreaming,

looking through cloudy thoughts and stormy perspectives.

While it's dark I'm walking still,

under this umbrella of self-preservation,

where the sun still shines of the promise of better and brighter,

where I'm healthy,awake,alive and living.

While it's raining I'm simply clinging to the promise that it can't "rain" bad forever.

Coming And Going (An Older Poem I Wrote)

Coming and going,

never knowing,

never slowing...

usually.

Coming and going,

grateful I'm still going,

even when life isn't slowing.

Talking (An Older Poem I Wrote)

Talking and telling,

first in occasional mumblings,

then clear words and sentences.

Talking and listening,

inspiration and I,

and I'm writing as quick as I can.

Talking and sharing,

new words,

new ideas,

new literary creation and therapy,

where I'm grateful to hear something again.
