Two In One (Part Two) (Two Fiction Stories I Wrote In One Post)
Gonna do something different again today. Sharing two fiction stories together in this post to be a blessing to someone today. May this bless someone today; and thank you again for your support.
(Fiction Story #1)
Back And Forth
Back and forth he paced. The uneven pattern began to make itself known in the floor. "How?!" begged the question in his troubled mind. He felt useless, wondering how he'd use his skills for a good purpose, how he'd make money for basic needs. Just then it hit him: children's nurseries!
He knew he'd have to try for the older kids, so he began making calls. "How do I do this? What do I do about that? Where can I entertain?", he asked, calling about business licensing, funding, and a place to entertain.
When the local creative community caught wind of this determined (and unorthodox) performer and his mission they wanted to help. Money was raised and given, permits were granted, and venues were set-up. All at once he set out for his first show at Little Sprouts Children's Academy. He was rusty at first, but once he found his focus and rhythm, the former circus juggler amazed all the kids at his skills. They laughed, they marvelled, and they clapped as he went back and forth with each item juggled, showing two worlds he knew and didn't now becoming one.
(Fiction Story #2)
Broken
It was fierce. It was long (or so it felt). It was a battle he thought he was ready for. Back and forth the tides turned, one side rose, then the other, victory became an elusive thing. Weapons were raised, plans were in place, and it.was.on!
Cleared then it retreated, re-engaging at another point in the siege, and it kept going: this cleaning war. They raised arms against these filthy foes with weapons drawn: brooms, mops, and various cleaning items! They swept, wiped, and re-cleaned (a few sippy cup "bombs" were "set off" on impact with the floor a few times), but they won the war. The monotonous task became exciting, adventurous, even dangerous! The old thinking was broken: that cleaning would always be boring; now to just keep the kids from starting up wars again by making messes intentionally because they're bored.
Sidenote: If any of the writing on this blog (including this story) has made a good impact on your life in someway (EVEN if it was something you may have enjoyed reading for a particular reason), please feel free to share this blog with someone else who could be blessed also. Thank you for your support!
