Trees I Climb

"Where to begin.", I'll wonder, examining the way out, then I'll reach up and begin to pull while climbing; climbing up and out. It'll be higher than I am (it usually is), these taller places than I.

This time it's a six or seven foot drop, a dirt floored crawlspace around and under a structure with a basement, next time it'll be something else. Either way it must be ventured somehow. Through low upper body strength and alot of prayer and strategy employed a way out is made. It'll be difficult, still I pull and push off what footholds I can find, ascending to get through the heights and the depths I'll take; these aren't much different than the tall trees I climbed as a kid.

Now it's a crawlspace, tomorrow It'll be an item on the top shelf of a grocery store, or some other height. These have become trees to me, ones I climbed as a kid, and I examine the way up and through. I'll make a plan and carry it out. It's never perfect, and it doesn't always work, but I'll be better for the effort. From the heights travelled up to the distances crossed quicker than most realize where being short is a blessing (a low positioning gives better handling to round corners and turns faster).

This is the world around me. Sometimes I must look up, and others times I see well all that's at eye level. Either way, I always enjoy the climb...and the reactions of others when I overcome "mountains" before me.
