Finding Your Voice (Different Ways I've Been Learning My "Voice")
Sharing these poems together to show how I've been "finding my 'voice' " through different writing. May these poems empower and encourage someone else to "find their 'voice' " also.
Poem 1.)
Two (An Acrostic Poem)
Trying to express in shorter ways,
Where time and energy are limited,
On the way to better results through intentionality.
Poem 2.)
Note About This Poem: This was me wondering if Acrostic and Hiaku styles could blend. Turns out they can.
One (A Poetic Experiment Blending Acrostic And Hiaku)
One line of five times,
Nearing a new form to write,
Each line showing steps.
Poem 3.)
Note About This Poem: Hiakus don't normally rhyme, I wanted to see what they'd look like if they did.
Rhyming Hiakus (A Hiaku Experiment)
Note About This Poem (below): One day while doing work at someone's residence, I noticed a shop across the road. The loud sounds, the sacrifice of it's employees (of one interaction I witnessed from a distance personally) really struck me. This IS NOT a poem AGAINST traditional work at a nine-five type job; ONLY what thoughts (and maybe a revelation) were shown me when seeing it all unfold.
Poem 4.)
Do You Hear? (A Slightly Older Poem I Wrote)
Do you hear the horror anthems sounding;
danger dutifully dealing destruction upon peace?
Do you hear industry rip the calm of the day with progress,
leaving the outside world unsettled?
Do you feel the machine of society and the workplace attempt it's chilling symphony,
even call these rhythms normal?
I do;
and I watch and pray for the lives leaving families and comfort behind,
seeking to earn income.
