Always In Mind (An Older Poem I Wrote)

I travel through towns the same way a cowboy would,

making way along the miles,

ready and watching,

to make the most of what's given me.

Dangers and blessings possible here,

yet I set course on these roads,

ever encountering the unknown awaiting me,

taking the pilgrim's journey,

seeking provisions for my tribe,

with homeward always in mind.
