Tiny (An Older Fiction Story I Wrote)

Large. Unknown. This was the world around me. Tiny. Alert. Always watching, searching my surroundings as I go, wondering how to survive.

Life isn't easy for the vulnerable, trying to live and stay safe. Most don't expect though how I might feel insignificant sometimes (especially when danger is much larger and more able to destroy me than most realize!). You breathe. You sleep. You go to the....well, you know what I mean. Most don't know how I seek to live and not merely exist and survive. Most don't realize how I appreciate food, a beautiful sunny day, or a friend I may find from time to time; people especially.

You wouldn't expect such an unusual and unexpected perspective from a life that's as tiny as mine....of a salamander. I may be tiny, but my personality is bigger than most know.
