Start Small

       "Start small.", emerged the words in my mind, dimly lit, the same way an old neon sign might be. This seemingly random instruction suddenly appearing to me...until I begin to consider what this tired mind of mine was thinking about: what to write, how to make some sort of impact in the world around me, a healthy and positive one.

        I reflect on this for a moment, examine my intentions, realizing I was anxious and overwhelmed (at writing of all things!) . So I act, jotting down these words. Writing through the stress. Writing through the inadequacy. Pushing past the demon of fear called overwhelming, and I start small. One word, then two as sentences turn into paragraphs, growing into beautiful progress, into beautiful change that shines bright, stands tall and strong. Sentences and paragraphs begin speaking on the page, confidence emerges from a once blank environment, a once barren and scattered heart and mind. In this increasing productivity hope and greater impact emerge within these growing results the same way large branches of an awe-inspiring tree would.

       Here is where my perspective changes and takes root, blossoms empowerment while looking at this new experience, this "tree" that is plainly possible. From such a simple seed of truth and promise, it is clear at long last the way to growth in writing and as a person: start small; start small and write. This simple “seed” brings about the largest enriching change and legacy known even in the pressure that would destroy any other way.

Just Write (How To Create When You're Beginning And Feeling Overwhelmed)

               You’re stuck. You feel empty. Overthinking seeks to imprison you; you can’t be shackled though, unless you don’t try. Just write. Don’t worry if it’s perfect, or even how much you will be able to write. Listen as you do, listen as that “inner writer” speaks (for they will) and words will arrive to meet you. First a few words will gather together, one by one, making complete pictures; small actions to a bigger result of greater writing. The little will grow, and so will your confidence. I Will Stand My Ground

        Light breaks through as clouds of despair are pierced, as hope begins to shine bright again, fierce and unrelenting. Life enters with the wind where change casts it's welcome breezes, and here I breathe in this refreshing shift of resolve.         Small steps are taken toward the dawning of renewal, a faith restored again as a good to be is reassured and seen in parts with each movement to healing; healing to grace for the broken, direction for the lost...for us all.
