The Rest Of The Picture

The clouds cover, and the light is gone, gone for a time. The roads we travel are no longer exciting, only existing, dare I say surviving. This is only half the picture though. The one where things aren't right in our lives, troubles or even the failures we relive for that moment; I am far too good at staying here.

The clouds cover, and the valley roads we take seem to never end, still there is light. Here, we MUST keep walking, I must keep walking, to see the rest of the picture; the one where there is good. Here we must keep walking through the unpleasant and unwelcome parts of our journeys. As a recovering pessimist this is something I've been having to learn and relearn....but I'm an eager student. Here, when we keep walking through these times of our lives we will find a WHOLE view of the picture we need to see. This may be VERY small steps in the littlest of "good" we hold onto, or simply a refusal to focus ONLY on what isn't good; sometimes it's both. Either way, the rest of the picture is worth walking until we reach that beautiful mountain view, one where the good and bad fit together in the puzzle they are, showing the glory of Jesus' redemption working in our lives for those who will endure through faith of a greater good that's still there in and through Him.
