Interruptions

Some plan, and some don't, and it's always at different degrees of both. Some days all goes well and nothing seems to be against you. Other days nothing goes well and all is against you (or at least this is how it can seem). It's here where our "plans" are interrupted that this can actually be a good thing sometimes. Resistance isn't always a bad thing, though when our way is suddenly disrupted (at whatever amount, and for however long) we can become discouraged and even frustrated (this is typically, and more often than I like to admit, my struggle).

It is here we can find growth right in the thick of these interruptions. It is here the "interruptions" can even sometimes be what we needed. I don't always like this truth (if I'm being fully transparent); though I don't like being stuck as a person and not growing even more so.

Change can be a difficult thing when there isn't any way forward, when no plan is seen here, when these interruptions are sudden and catch us by surprise (especially for those who need some sort of structure like me). As I'm learning though how to respond in better and healthier ways to these "shifts" of life, I find 2 questions usually help me: 1.) What is good? Remembering to consider NOT ONLY what is wrong or unpleasant, to see the whole picture, and 2.) What else is there? Seeking to look BEYOND what is easily seen, and past SIMPLY A SOLUTION ONLY (a question I began learning in my video game playing days). I don't usually answer these easily, or always succeed at being willing to even ask them, but for those particularly tough interruptions they help me alot, and I've been learning to ask them more. A focus is shifted and the poison of destructive thoughts and emotions is left powerless. When unexpected shifts bring necessary change that's good these CAN be a blessing (especially if we're willing to answer those 2 questions, and even ask them to begin with). If this doesn't work for you at first (or easily), just know you can always try again. You aren't alone, or the only one that struggles. Let's struggle through these together and win!
