A Greater Way

Light pours suddenly in, splits the darkness surrounding, and gives the promise of hope. Light wakes each life met, speaks a greater way, comes with hope in His wake. Jesus, You are the Light, and I'm glad You're here. The Turtle Tries (Fiction)

The turtle tries, making much. The turtle takes time, looks long, thinks thoughtfully through time, through trials. He hopes, walks whether worn, remembers resilence redeems, finds faith for fruitfulness, amasses abundance amid all.  Sidenote: If any of the writing on this blog has made a good impact on your life in someway (EVEN if it was something you may have enjoyed reading for a particular reason), please feel free to share this blog with someone else who could be blessed also. When You're Practicing.....

Below are some recent writings I wrote as encouragement for me, as well as just a lot of experimentation to create SOMETHING....EVEN when you're practicing. I ALMOST didn't share it; but thought maybe it would encourage someone else also to create something constructive and good if I did. Write Again (Nonfiction) One word one over-tired, sleepy morning; still, I'll write try. I'll write again, even in the exhaustion. Go (6-word Nonfiction)  Go. Give grace. Give good. Go. Dare During (6-Word Nonfiction)  Dare during daunting defeat; dare, determined. Continuing (6-Word (Nonfiction) Defy differently; continuing calm, remaining resolute. Heals (Non-Fiction I Wrote) Hope. Hope. When it's heavy. When it's hard to. Hope. Hope heals.  Sidenote: If any of the writing on this blog has made a good impact on your life in someway (EVEN if it was something you may have enjoyed reading for a particular reason), please feel free to share this blog with someon...

Maybe That's The Point

I wrote something the other day in the genre of nonfiction, and if I'm being fully transparent I am struggling with whether I should share it or not. Not because I don't want to, or that it's something really controversial, but I do not want to be a hypocrite if it's something that I may be saying, but struggling to believe or live out. Maybe that's the point though: stepping into a belief and applying it, even when that belief doesn't come easy, or is only a little (whether that's a tangible act or not). So with that said, I'm posting here what I wrote the other day down below. Maybe it will be an encouragement to someone, to not wait until things are perfect to have faith in Jesus, and in turn in good. But simply to believe even when that belief doesn't come easy; maybe that's the point.  In The Going (Nonfiction)          Grace in the going. Rest in the running. Hope helping hurried hours; here I reflect. Praying, writi...

An "Aha! Moment"

I would read it over an over and never fully understand it; then one day it changed. I kept seeing the phrase "Aha!" in Bible reading and I didn't understand it 'till then.            Fast forward several years and another "Aha! Moment" would happen; I would learn how to express myself in another way: a fusing of two genres together. The other morning I wrote something that surprised me. I was able to write nonfiction and fiction together. As I learn how to do this, I find this confidence spilling over into other areas of my life also. Whatever your "Aha! Moments" are, know it isn't just confined to one area of your life. Below is the most recent "Aha! Moment" I wrote about. Sharing it to encourage and empower someone.            In The Consistency (Nonfiction Experiment)          After a heavy week, under heavy days, writing, writing. It's all a fog, the inspiratio...

This Is NOT An Author Page.....

At one point in the submission process of sending writing into various publications I started seeing something different in the forms to submit writing: an asking for an author page. Before blogging here I usually dismissed it; but this time is different now. I wouldn't call this (or my Patreon page) an "author's page".... it's more. It's about making a difference, NOT JUST sharing writing. I'd share links to my YouTube channel here, and even post pictures if possible; I'd even post a link to my PayPal here (to generate income WHILE making an impact) if possible. Since recently learning however that Blogspot (the Google platform I use here) doesn't allow those sort of links (I've tried and even researched it), I find myself wondering what else is limited (yet I'll still work with this since it's free here regardless). As I'm learning how to better use these resources (this blog included), just know I'm not here for s...

Thinking (6-Word Non-Fiction)

Thinking thoroughly, through Thursday's times; thankful. Maybe I Can....

Maybe I can write something, here in the middle. In the middle of a chaotic work day. In the middle of hardship and pressure under the load of a workday. Maybe I can create, just create, to make room and space for good, for healthy. Maybe I can make something good that has impact; so I'll try.             I'll empty me again, in the heavy loads of a Thursday workday, of a brutal pace and pressure, remembering Jesus redeems EVEN here, writing to make room for good inside again as He works. I've Never Realized This Before....

When I first read Psalm 103, I didn't fully understand how truly impactful it was. Then I read it again and again, and Jesus began showing me how David (the author) was encouraging himself in what is true; he was giving himself a "spiritual pep talk" of sorts. This encouraged and empowered me endlessly (and still does).          As I was writing today, I found myself doing the same thing, without realizing it at first until I read what I wrote later. What do you need to say to yourself to remind yourself of what's good, true, and empowering? Below is what I wrote today. Sharing it to encourage someone today.                             Just Try (Nonfiction)         Just try; though the days are fast, and often tough. Just hope; when circumstances are too much, when you may wanna rest. Just pray; there is still change, new and good. Keep going. Side...

Making (6-Word Non-Fiction Experiment)

Making Monday matter; with weighted words. Even On These Shores

Slipping between known and unknown, passing as ships in a fog of thoughts and emotions are these considerations. Ideas and memories arrive then depart just as quickly, an ocean of busy stirring waves that pull and push these musings in and out of seas of busy.          I look, in anxious anticipation, an eager soul longing for change and rest searching the turbulent waters called days eager for new and blessed. Here I wait. Here I hope. Even on these shores of worn, where hardships will not stop me. Look Again

"What could I say on a hectic Friday?" , thinking again to encouragement today; the day has been busy in an unusual way. Expression that's honest, something to say, to empower and build up someone today. I write these words from some blank place, curious as to how I could draw from such a space. I think and I muse, sensing the urge, to create something meaningful here on a Friday.                So I go back again to the last words I saw, ones that spoke as my emotions were raw; here is where encouragement I'll draw. Be willing to look again for your way through, while you offer the best you can do. It will not be easy, but keep going still, Jesus will provide strength that will fill. Just keep looking again as you go, and a new way will be made that you didn't know. Don't give up, even when it's not perfect, just give YOUR best, as you look again to the rest. Here in this hope you will do more than cope, a...

Listening

In these twists and turns, still I walk. Plans fail and adjust, still I take small steps, one at a time. Sometimes I stop, rest for a while, then get back up and enter the path again. Sometimes the roads are level, other's there's a mountain to climb; still I walk, still I go. " Do I walk alone?", I question to myself. "Will there be rest from inclines?", I ask myself; yet curiousity bids me walk. Hope spurs me on, hope that wakes inside this tired soul, and so I let hope lead. Hope stirs, says, "Let's see what's ahead, what else is here!" , and curiosity runs to join in on the journey, and we go.            My soul is tired, though I'm waking. Hope and curiousity lead me on. Jesus, Jesus You are stirring, inviting me to new again, inviting and I'm listening; reassured again I do not walk alone, that there is rest as WE walk together. Even In

Tired scribbles, in the rush. Worn words as the world wakes; as I wake. Falling lazily from my soul they begin to arrive; they must be tired too.          Triumph takes time sometimes; and I'll take that time. I'll work words, initiate ideas, wrestle with writing to triumph; giving grace to the journey, remembering it's not about perfect or plenty, but writing well...even in messy moments. Speaks (6-Word Non-Fiction)

Listed

One of two styles of poetry I've been learning is a List Poem. I would have NEVER thought a list could be part of a poem, but apparently it's legit. It's a style I'm still learning, but I'm learning nonetheless; just mind blown to think all those times I wrote lists in my phone for various things was ALSO training for another way to write something unique. Below is one I wrote today. And It Is Here (List Poem) -A moment to thrive  -A plan to heal and grow -A day to overcome  ; and it is here I rise, slowly. It is here I pray, with more focus, grateful for a moment to recover in busy.  Sidenote: If any of the writing on this blog has made a good impact on your life in someway (EVEN if it was something you may have enjoyed reading for a particular reason), please feel free to share this blog with someone else who could be blessed also. A Different Persona

I used to think ALL poetry had to be non-fiction. Recently that has changed...and I must admit...it's been a REALLY fun journey. One of those more fictional styles I've been learning is called a Persona Poem where you create a persona about something that's NOT you and write from there. What I enjoy most about learning these is when you feel stuck in the area of non-fiction content, you can come up with something fictional, AND it forces you to be more creative as well as you do (ironic I know). Below is one example of a persona poem I wrote today. Let's Talk (Persona Poem) Let's talk, you and I; for now I'll listen. I may be speaking as you write, but I'll listen also.  Write and just be; no pressure, no judgement.  If it's not perfect that's okay; I just wanna create with you. So let's talk, you the writer and I the page; I enjoy our "conversations".  Sidenote: If any of the writing on this blog has made a good impact on your...
