Going Places (Elegy Poem)

Thinking, reflecting on the places we went;

times we had together.

Considering the journeys shared;

never long and always quick.

You had your place and I did mine,

remembering even these things warmly.

We were going places you and I,

until we weren't,

when our last "ride" ended,

when you went to your makeshift "garage",

Wooden runners and all;

you made a great race car and rocking chair nonetheless.
