Fires (An Older Fiction Story I Wrote)

Flames reached high and so did she, outstretched arms expressed her gratitude, giving thanks to God for getting out alive and unharmed. Medical personnel ran to carry her back from fires that reminded all present there was still danger.

She was looked over, smelled, and all who were witnesses remained in shock. "How did you get out safely, and without smelling like the fires?", asked the little girl's parents. "When I was very scared and crying a light showed bright. A shiny man walked to me, said I'd be okay, told me to take his hand and follow him and I did.", said the little girl. "He was nice and looked very pretty; he even smiled at me and we sang a song as we walked.", she concluded. "You sang a song?", the parents asked her. She nodded. "What song?", they further questioned. She began to sing, "He's got the whole world in His hands. He's got you and me and sister in his hands.", she sang as she placed her hand on her mom's belly when she sang sister. Mom and dad were confused by this. "Why did you place your hand on mama's belly just now?", asked her mom. "The shiny man said I was gonna have a sister, and we'd get a new house after the fires.", said the little girl as she raised her arms to Heaven again in unbridled joy, singing and thanking God with excitement. All stood silent at the events they witnessed....all but the little girl who came safely out of fires.
