Writing Again (An Older Poem I Wrote)

Over the scribbles words are recorded,

new sentences and paragraphs,

a new story emerges.

The once recited words merge with the old,

change a life lived,

give something new.

Writing again is taking place,

giving truth through the lies,

lines rehearsed well with every reading.

Writing again the grace needed,

replacing the hurtful misshapen narrative read for so long,

one that looks better and more exciting to read,

to live,

better than that old story of an old life,

one where growth and identity sounded better than ever before.
