What Else Is There?

At the end I sit, seek to recover from a busy week before leaving for the day. At the end of a shift I pause, take notice of the hurt felt deep within joints and muscles, hurt that says, "Look for better. Try again", so I do; I look for better with questions. "What else is there; past a busy day, past the pushbacks of too much too soon with little relief of a relentless work load?", I ask, "What else is there to see beyond a difficult day?", I further question; and this is where healing happens.

This tired soul seeks clarity and finds it, "You did ______. You made it this far. You have been able to do ______ in the past few days. Look again", bids my inquisitive nature, the analytical side of me that ushers in healthy, so I look again, in thoughts, in emotions, in what is true. "It's not as hot. There's a cool breeze (compared to past days). There's an amazing Cardinal perching on a branch of a tree nearby that invited you to embrace the creativity of Jesus." , and I reflect on what's true MORE THAN WHAT I FEEL. "What else is there?" I ask once again, "Hope.", enters my mind, the word Hope, from somewhere, and I can't help but believe it's Jesus.  Jesus giving me the greatest answer when I'm simply willing to look PAST myself in a hard day and ask "What else is there?", that I would not remain stuck in a pessimism that I find Jesus healing me of once again in this day; Thank You Jesus!
