Seas (A Hybrid Prose Piece)

One part yellow making the whole.

Two parts green blended in subtly; known though not overpowering.


            Mixed together and cooperating masterfully, such seas of color outdoors. Warmed by heat and the process is brought out fully. Heaven's masterpiece on full display, "cooked" to perfection and marvelled at! Such a wonderful "recipe" of color and life made to enjoy and rejoice in. Amazing seas of creation ready to serve and "eat" with the eyes.

A Note About This Piece: This is a nonfiction piece where I sought to write it partly as a standard nonfiction piece (where it's usually in paragraph form; like the last half of this piece) and then left indented the same way a to-do list or a recipe list (like the first half of this piece) is. This is why I call it a hybrid nonfiction piece. It is my first attempt at it. It is one of a few I had attempted . Felt I needed to clear that up.

Just Write (How To Create When You're Beginning And Feeling Overwhelmed)

               You’re stuck. You feel empty. Overthinking seeks to imprison you; you can’t be shackled though, unless you don’t try. Just write. Don’t worry if it’s perfect, or even how much you will be able to write. Listen as you do, listen as that “inner writer” speaks (for they will) and words will arrive to meet you. First a few words will gather together, one by one, making complete pictures; small actions to a bigger result of greater writing. The little will grow, and so will your confidence. Just write.                  Just a word at a time while remembering to keep writing. Soon paragraphs will be seen. One word will become two and sentences will gather together becoming paragraphs. I Will Stand My Ground

        Light breaks through as clouds of despair are pierced, as hope begins to shine bright again, fierce and unrelenting. Life enters with the wind where change casts it's welcome breezes, and here I breathe in this refreshing shift of resolve.         Small steps are taken toward the dawning of renewal, a faith restored again as a good to be is reassured and seen in parts with each movement to healing; healing to grace for the broken, direction for the lost...for us all.
