Peace (An Ekphrastic Poem)

Even from such a long time ago,

even now there's safety,

freedom from fear.

Peace in the picture,

rest in the rendering,

the nostalgic rendering,

where assurance of safety is clear,

and hope isn't lost on the beholder.

Note About The Piece: Recently I began learning about these poems called "Ekphrastic Poems". Basically, they're poems about a poets response or reaction to some piece of art. This is one of those poems I wrote inspired by Norman Rockwell's "Freedom From Fear" painting.
