Old Clothes (A Slightly Older Poem I Wrote)
Comfortable and I shouldn't be,
used to the ragged and worn,
to the old clothes I've known for too long.
Fitting closely,
these tattered words and emotions,
hugging me in their rough embrace,
these old clothes I've gotten accustomed to.
Changing the wardrobe,
finding new truths and beliefs,
ones I'm not used to,
putting on new clothes,
where shame and disgrace are exchanged for the new life I put on instead.
