Moments (An Older Poem I Wrote)

Moments,

when you live,

when you try,

when it's messy,

and engage anyway.

 

Times,

when plans fail,

hope falls,

and you look again,

see a little joy,

in the chaos,

in the unplanned,

and you find treasure,

in these moments most of all,

wild untamed life.

I Saw

          I saw the child before me, showing joy and innocence, present in the present and fully embracing jubilation even in the everyday. I witnessed the fun still evident in the fundamental responsibilities of daily living as the aging youth went about their day. I saw dancing, then the timid pulling back of a child-like nature.
