Assembly Required (An Older Poem I Wrote)

Pieces lay before me,

ideas of all shapes and sizes,

looking them over,

wondering how they fit.

Hold this,

connect that,

slowly the work happens,

the brainstorming becomes complete,

a picture of wonder and excitement is shown,

where assembly is required,

an effort to build something beautiful revealed,

a joy in the creation finished,

where work is given new meaning.
