It Takes A Whole Week (An Older Fiction Story I Wrote)
Sad was Monday. Often was his temperament, for he was not liked. Still, he had a job to do, to begin life for all, awakening a new realm of possibilities. In spite of being hated most of all among his seven siblings, he persisted to make his attempts at beginning great.
Tuesday was known for her boldness. She refused to quit, and when life rose up through hardships, her handiwork was sure to be there. Everyone forgot her, though it was her mission to inspire all who wanted to give up.
Wednesday was found cheerful and full of optimism. She strengthened the tired and worn in her hopeful approach to everything. Her aim everyday being to find all the spent souls and carry them until they regained energy and motivation to carry on.
When straightforward words were spoken, decisive actions evident, so was Thursday. Not bold, merely honest, knowing what he wanted: to give proper perspective to those who had none. Watching, looking for those who lost their way, then helping them find it.
She celebrated achievement, she cheered in unbridled joy of completion, giving contentment to those who finished tasks. When lives were overcome with peace, Friday was among these festive ones, giving grace and gratitude in it all. Every moment of fulfillment she gave eagerly to such celebrations, elations she set as her goal to commence.
The twins were loved most of all. Saturday for his fun natured, go-getting approach, and Sunday for her restful, laidback demeanor, wanting all to rest and enjoy life lived. The two seeking to bring fun, productivity, and rest, to all.
In life it was here that Frank find himself unknowingly meeting the siblings (something he never fully realized). Starting out the week with a job, Monday's hopeful beginnings, then getting laid off by the following day, not finding a new career until Friday when the sucker-punched life he lived was rewarded through his diligence.
From the perseverance given by Tuesday as despair washed over him and he wanted to quit (after being laid off) , to the energizing of his weary soul where Wednesday picked him up and carried his broken will, encouraging him to keep going as he became increasingly empowered and motivated again. The honest, and proper perspective of Thursday yielded clarity of mind to him, urging him forward through the struggle. Four days had passed and it was the fifth day. Several interviews had been frequented, and many applications were sent out; and it was here within Friday that his perseverance was made complete and joy was given in the form of a new career he was hired for. Working behind the scenes through life were five…but it wasn’t over yet. In a fun encounter with Saturday he was overcome in celebration, and with Sunday his restful moment arrived. It was up. It was down. It was seven siblings working and being present in the life of one person. Seven days making a difference he’d never know, for they were never seen. For a life truly lived well takes a whole week.
A word about this story: this is written from the idea of: "What if the days of the week had a personality; and how would that effect a person's life?". It was originally written from a prompt I came across.
